The Small Dog Appreciation Society print edition. These fantastic Giclée prints are inspired by Dutch wax print fabrics and the ever growing popularity of pint sized pets.

The name Dachshund is of German origin and literally translates as 'Badger Dog'. Because of their long, narrow build, Dachshunds are often nicknamed sausage dogs.

Dogs of similar size and build to the Dachshund are thought to have been around for a very long time as they are depicted in cave and tomb drawings, some thousands of years old, found in countries such as Egypt and South America. We know now, however, that Dachshunds originated in Germany over 400 years ago. Dachshunds are brave, bold and sometimes reckless, willing and ready to take on the badgers they were bred to hunt.
